Nassau Road

The Brief

A referral from a past client, our client wanted a change of lifestyle as juggling two professional careers whilst raising a young family in a central London apartment with no outside space was proving increasingly difficult. The clients were still insistent on a prime London location.

A retreat from central London into the leafy international enclave of Barnes.

The Search

The quality of schools, school commute and work commute became the principal focuses of the search, as well as a requirement for good outside space. It was felt that the properties of SW4, SW11, SW13 and SW15 would satisfy this brief. At their budget level, the housing stock in these areas are all very similar. The clients were keen to mould the property to their own requirements, so a potential to reconfigure was now essential. We undertook the viewings (with clients) of over 200 properties arranged over numerous tours. TLR saw approaching 800 houses.

The Result

The client purchased a tired SW13 ‘village’ house with an unusually large garden and moved into the property having completed stage one of the refurbishment programme which TLR also advised on. The intention was for this to become a family home for the next 20 years. Two years on the client has just completed the second phase of the refurbishment programme, and they are all thrilled.

I have worked with Marcus for over 3 years now and it is always a pleasure to do so. Marcus goes the extra mile for his clients, even after completion of a purchase, he will ensure his clients are looked after. Sale and purchase transactions can throw various obstacles along the way and I have worked with Marcus on a few such transactions; he is always communicative and assists in facilitating the transaction to ensure that his clients achieve their desired outcome in a timely manner. We are often working to tight exchange deadlines and the clients (and I) have always valued Marcus' input, availability, knowledge of various London estates and overall, good sense of humour.
