Mayfair
W1
Along with Belgravia, Mayfair is regarded as the most prestigious residential location in London. Also similar to Belgravia it has been guilty of not having a community. Once again, popular with overseas individuals who tend to own but rarely occupy their properties. A portion of Mayfair is owned by the Grosvenor Estate, and they have worked tirelessly to create a village centre focused around Mount Street. They have been very successful in achieving a very beguiling community for its affluent residents and visitors.
Mayfair boasts some of the best hotels in London, such as, The Connaught, Browns Hotel and Claridges. Development companies have also built and are building some impressive apartment schemes.
Mayfair is very much enjoying a renaissance, with excellent hotels and restaurants and some of the best residential property, all of which creates an appealing community.
The shopping area of the West End, Oxford Street and Regent Street abut the border of Mayfair. Within Mayfair are the high end shopping roads of Bond Street, Burlington Arcade and Bruton Street. As a consequence, Mayfair is always buzzing.
In spite of Hyde Park forming the eastern border and Green Park forming the southern border, there are some beautiful green spaces within Mayfair itself; Berkeley Square, Grosvenor Square and Mount Street Gardens.
