Camden
NW1
One of London’s oldest and most colourful villages. Camden, located in the London Borough of Camden, is famous for its markets and the Regents Canal. Camden, like much of London has experienced and is still experiencing an extensive redevelopment and improvement plan, not only a gentrification of shops and restaurants but also a re-organising of the infrastructure, in terms of road layouts.
There is still a slightly shabby-chic feeling to Camden, which many people enjoy. It’s central location means it attracts those working in the City and West End. The eclectic nature of its inhabitants means that there is a real diverse and vibrant community who are very loyal to their village.
The proposed HS2 line is supposed to be commencing at Euston Station, and running underneath Camden, this has caused great concern to the residents of certain roads. This has now become a larger political topic and so we wait to see if this is actioned and which route will be implemented.
