King's Cross
N1C
King’s Cross within the London Borough of Camden has undergone and is nearing completion of a ten year re-development programme to create a new London neighbourhood.
The land owner and developer Argent purchased the 65 acres that has become the new area at King’s Cross (N1C). This area of land runs north from the King’s Cross St Pancras Station and Hotel, borders with the British Library to the west and York Way to the east.
Argent have been instrumental in curating the redevelopment of the entire site. They have handpicked the developers, the type and use of the property and the appearance of the schemes, which has resulted in possibly one of the most successful ever redevelopment programs within London.
The site now comprises a mixture of hotels, restaurants, shops both high-end retail and main stream and bars many of which benefit from outside space and terracing as well as 26 acres of new parks, squares and open space.
Extensive money has been spent on hard landscaping throughout the sixty five acres. Moreover key office tenants such as Google have occupied from the beginning and indeed are extending their office requirements.
The aspiration was for King’s Cross St Pancras to become a destination location and it is fair to say they have not only achieved this but excelled in their delivery.
